major projects
Project 1: Creative Brief
For project 1, I am inclined to work on an explainer video. The reason
I am choosing to create another explainer video is simply because I believe it creates more opportunity for valuable portfolio examples. Within this project, I will take inspiration from projects created by Kurzgesagt on Youtube, who is an animation genius - especially regarding educating people. His style of creation is addictive, colorful, and constantly changing. As this applies heavily to my personal style as well, he is great inspiration.
Regarding my topic I have had several ideas pop in to my head to explain. From more serious notes of "What is composting? Why is it important" to lighter things like "Why should you not kill spiders" or "How to not kill your succulent".
Recently I watched a youtube video about creating paper-like textures in after effects. I think this would be interesting to work with as well. I need to figure out how I will be able to combine my interests and also include cinema 4d creations. That ideation is yet to come to me. Most of my ideation will likely be found on Pinterest and Youtube collectively.
Project 1: Revision/Storyboard
I ended up changing my topic to easy healthy snacks for a lazy chef. This is because I have been really into changing my eating habits, and I always thought it would be impossible to enjoy what I am eating.
This leaves opportunity for beautiful visuals, color schemes, and a social media like cooking video.
Im considering making the format of this video to fit on iphones, since the inspiration came from social media.

Project 2: Creative Brief
In this collaboration between Julia Merten and James Hudson Ratzlaff, they will create a visual rendition of the fairy tale (NO IDEA). They will attempt to make this a primarily 3D visual based project, using animated 3D cameras inside of after effects to focus on various 3D elements throughout the project.
The driving force between this project is the simplified way it will tell the story of (UGHH), by picking out key elements out of the story and bringing them to life in a “starry night” minimalist particle render. This allows the story to be told in a simple but very elegant way. This in combination with 2D visuals to add additional spice to bring it together for a very smooth and cohesive viewer experience.

Project 2: Revision/Storyboard
Due to difficulties for group work with Corona, Hudson and I decided to work alone. I changed my topic to Goldilocks, and made it spin off of AirBnB. Obviously more geared towards an adult audience, but a creative style that appeals to children, (sound, color, repetition)
Project 2: Storyboard

Project 3: Creative Brief
During this difficult time, I decided to make my project corona themed in order to fit the 'societal good' prompt of our final projects. This project will focus on the time I have had to reflect on the important relationships in my life, and especially all the people I want to thank.
Utilizing some nice inspiration from a book I have called "The Book That Takes Its Time" I took the beginning mantras to organize the rest of the video (the stopmotion at the beginning). While I struggle to write physical hand-written notes, I wanted to try expressing my emotions through a different medium, without actual "words". I will be creating animated thank you notes, featuring my emotions and thanks in photos, animations, and memories.
